Winter is upon us. The days are notably shorter and Mr. Sunshine is in scarce supply. But there is one way to see the light this winter, and that is through laser light therapy or low-level laser therapy (LLLT). If your hair is thinning, LLLT may be the answer.

LLLT works for most women and men experiencing androgentic alopecia (male-pattern baldness) by stimulating the hair follicles and increasing blood supply to the scalp. This can increase hair strength and elasticity and promote fuller, thicker-looking hair. It also stops the progression of hair loss in 85 percent of patients.

More information about the science behind LLLT can be found here.

The FDA has approved this safe, effective treatment and there are no side effects. Additionally there is no heat associated with using the laser therapy.

Allusions has a state-of-the-art laser machine in the salon with a device that fits over your head while you are seated in a comfortable chair in a private setting. Convenient appointments are available. You can page through a magazine, read a book or scroll through your phone while you receive the LLLT.

For those of you who travel or need even more convenience, Allusions now offers two LLLT solutions you can use at home. The iGrow laser cap is a newer device that we carry and is hands free. We also carry the HairMax Laser Comb. It’s portable and packable and you comb it through your hair for 11 minutes, three times per week.

Light therapy takes time. You won’t see hair growth overnight, but most of our clients see noticeable changes in three to four months. Light therapy takes commitment. Whether at home or at Allusions, laser therapy must be performed regularly – two to four times per week – to see hair growth.

Don’t delay! The earlier you start using LLLT, the better your chances of desired results. See the light and learn more about what light therapy can do for you!
