Many people are nervous about surgical procedures, and going under the knife for a cosmetic procedure can be intimidating. Let us introduce you to one of the most exciting developments in the hair loss industry. Laser hair therapy is a non-invasive and pain-free low energy laser or “soft” laser light that can promote hair growth by using multiple lights aimed at the scalp.

Also called red light therapy and cold laser, or even biostimulation and photobiomodulation, laser hair therapy used properly can:

  • stimulate the tissue of your scalp and increase blood supply to the scalp by up to fifty-four percent
  • stimulate hair follicles encouraging hair growth
  • increase hair strength and elasticity
  • stop the progression in eighty-five percent of patients
  • repair damage caused by salon chemicals

Like all treatments and therapies, results will vary from one person to the next. One person may see an incredible improvement while the next only minor improvement. Some may not see improvement but will notice the progression of their hair loss has halted.

While there are a few doctors who are skeptical about the benefits of laser hair therapy, there are a variety of studies that have been conducted that indicate the use of red light therapy has increased hair counts in both women and men suffering from androgenic alopecia.

In one such study, 41 male participants (22 active 19 placebo) who suffered from androgenic alopecia were used to test if a low-level laser helmet-type device could promote hair growth. The men in the active group that were treated with the laser therapy helmet showed “significantly improved hair counts.” Another study was performed using women and had similar results.

Other studies have shown that those treated also experienced other desirable hair attributes, such as thicker and shinier, more manageable hair.

Will it work for me?

A good candidate for laser hair therapy should have a decent amount of remaining hair that is still growing and follicles that are still capable of growth. We will, of course, do a comprehensive evaluation of your hair and scalp and discuss the results you could expect from a customized program using our laser hair therapy system.

To get the best results, you will need to be consistent and attend regular sessions. Clients usually start to notice fuller, thicker, and healthy-looking hair after a few weeks of treatment.
